How can we help you?
We know that you probably have questions about your dental treatment, and we're happy to help you find the answers you need! Here are a few of the questions we hear often, but if you don't see yours listed here, please don't hesitate to call us at (225) 673-0445.
We often hear from patients who worry that the cost of dental treatment is not in their budget. Often, people avoid going to the dentist for fear that they will need treatment they cannot afford.
At Prestige Dentistry, we completely understand this fear. Having a healthy smile is an investment, and for many, needs to be an affordable investment.
As costly as dental treatment may seem, putting off dental care can cost much more in the long run. Untreated dental problems fester and cause further damage, creating a situation that costs more than if treated initially. At our office, we work with you to help you get your needed treatment in a timely, cost-effective manner.
CareCredit
One way of making dental care affordable is with CareCredit interest-free financing. Care Credit works similar to a credit card and allows patients to break up payments over a period of time (usually 6 or 12 months) with low or no interest. We will help you get approved on your first visit to our office so that your worries are eliminated.
Pre-Payment Discounts
Another option for making treatment more cost-effective is with pre-payment of your dental treatment. By paying for all your dental care up front, you can receive discounts that reduce the overall cost of your treatment.
Talking about the financial aspect of your dental treatment does not have to be awkward or embarrassing. We aim to help you get the care you need promptly and are happy to discuss how to fit your budget so you can get that healthy smile you deserve. If you have any questions about your treatment plan or cost, give us a call.
A dental emergency can really impact your life and cause great pain. Luckily, your team at Prestige Dentistry is here to give you relief from pain and get you back to normal. Our office can see you the day the emergency occurs.
Common emergency symptoms, like a ‘hot’ tooth with a cavity that has reached the nerve, can be treated with either a prescription to get you out of pain immediately or treating you the same day. If extraction is needed, Dr. Oza and staff can usually do treatment immediately. If there is an active infection or an abscess, an antibiotic and pain medication can be prescribed, and we can get you in as soon as possible to begin treatment.
Another emergency such as a chipped front tooth can be an embarrassing sight. We understand that getting your smile back as soon as possible is important. In this case, we would evaluate your condition and fill the tooth that day if possible.
If your emergency happens during business hours, just call us at (225) 673-0445, and we will fit you in that day. If it's after hours, just leave us a message and we will promptly return your call. We will see what needs to be done to get you comfortable and get you in as soon as possible to evaluate the problem area.
Yes! We love seeing kids at our office. It is recommended that a child’s first trip to the dentist be either when the first tooth appears or by age one. Believe it or not, this first visit sets the tone for a child’s comfort level with the dental office for life. The sooner a kid sees the dentist, the sooner they become comfortable with visiting the dental office throughout life. Establishing this familiarity helps one keep good long-term dental habits and see the dental office as a not-so-scary place to go.
Our goal at Prestige Dentistry is to keep our patients comfortable, including your little ones. We love to show kids what we do in a kid-friendly manner and get them comfortable with the sights and sounds of a dental office. Dr. Oza and staff love to explain to children what their visit will involve and show them that a visit with us will be a positive experience.
We will also spend time with parents to answer any questions they may have. We will discuss home care, diet, and children’s habits, such as thumb-sucking, which can affect the development of the teeth and jaws.
Our office also has Netflix and television in the treatment rooms so your child can forget they are at the dental office. We also like to encourage kids to keep up good hygiene so they can get their picture taken for our No Cavity Club.
No. We do not accept Medicaid at our office.
Periodontal Treatment
Bleeding gums when brushing or flossing is an early sign of a bigger, underlying condition. Often, this underlying problem is periodontal disease, otherwise known as gum disease. In periodontal disease, bacteria in the gums cause an infection that can spread and destroy the supporting structures of your teeth.
The good news is that gum disease can be avoided by brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing at least once a day. Bleeding will gradually decrease and disappear once a regular daily routine is established. Regular visits to the dentist for cleanings will also help prevent infection. These regular visits are important because all the plaque cannot be removed on your own, no matter how well you brush and floss your teeth. Plaque eventually becomes hard tartar, which cannot be removed with a toothbrush or floss.
Our team at Prestige Dentistry gently works to remove plaque from your teeth. This involves the use of specialized instruments to comfortably remove plaque and tartar. If you have gum disease, we will treat it with special instruments to remove bacteria and tartar above and below the gum line, and apply an antibacterial rinse also. And, most importantly, we will educate you on the correct home care so that gum disease can be avoided altogether.
Teeth Whitening
There are several options out there for whitening teeth. With so many to choose from, it can be overwhelming to decide which one's right for you! At our office, we offer the best options that provide something for everyone. The right choice depends on what result you are looking for.
One common treatment for teeth whitening is whitening trays. With whitening trays, we begin by taking an impression, or mold, of your upper and lower teeth. We then make you custom clear trays in the office that are an exact fit for your teeth.
The trays act as a reservoir for the bleaching material. Dr. Oza checks the fit of the trays to your mouth and gives syringes of bleach gel for you to take home. This option is convenient because you wear the trays with the gel at home, and can wear them frequently to get the right shade you want.
For those wanting a more drastic and quicker result, an in-office procedure with Pola whitening is another option. This visit takes about one and a half hours and involves four eight-minute applications of bleaching gel.
This gel is a higher strength than the gel used for take-home trays. After the in-office procedures, you are given bleaching trays and gel to take home and use to maintain the shade reached.
An even quicker result can be attained with the KöR whitening system. This is an in-office procedure also that is customized based on the amount of staining you have and the desired result.
Dr. Oza can sit down with you to discuss the various options and figure out which procedure would be best for your specific situation.
